Metro Requests Your Participation in GS1 Canada Product Recall

Metro Inc. (Metro) is pleased to announce its engagement in GS1 Canada Product Recall for Grocery. Developed by industry, for industry, this online communication tool will accelerate food recalls and withdrawals by simplifying the exchange of recall information between businesses using global GS1 standards. As a valued trading partner, Metro requests your participation in this program.

If you have not already done so, please register to use GS1 Canada Product Recall for Grocery by March 30, 2012.

Metro has expanded its existing ECCnet Registry vendor terms and conditions of trade to include GS1 Canada Product Recall for Grocery. Metro also updated its recall policy to include use of this tool to receive product recall notifications from their vendors. Receiving recall communications through a single, standardized source will further enhance Metro’s management of the critical information needed to execute recalls with expediency and accuracy.
