GS1 Canada was honoured with the 2006 Canadian Information Productivity Gold Award (CIPA) of Excellence, in the Organizational Transformation, Not for Profit category. Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards Collaborative Commerce Achievement Award
GS1 Canada was selected as one of three finalists in the Supply Chain Excellence Category of the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards (VICS) Association 10th Annual Collaborative Commerce Achievement Awards. GS1 Canada was selected based on an entry that outlines the development and implementation of ECCnet Registry, Canada's national product registry.

2013

The Overwaitea Food Group (OFG) opened its first store in March 1915, on Columbia Street in New Westminster, BC. Since then, OFG has grown to become Canada’s largest western-based food store chain. OFG stays true to its roots by staying close to customers and community, leading the way in the West with innovation and local value – that’s the OFG tradition. 2012

CJR Wholesale Grocers Ltd. (The Rabba Group) has more than 35 stores throughout the Greater Toronto Area with several new locations underway. Every Rabba store is always open... 24/7. Each Rabba store has been designed to offer the product selection of large supermarkets with the individual attention of a smaller food store. Rabba has come to know what customers want and is determined to meet and exceed those expectations.

2011

Stong's Market has been a Canadian grocery fixture since the1890s. The first store in Vancouver opened its doors in 1943, and ever since then, the independent grocer has been providing customers with fresh produce, brand name products and a unique selection of gourmet, natural and organic products.

2010

On October 20, 1955, Freson Market Ltd. opened its first butcher shop in Hinton Alberta. The butcher shop further evolved into a meat and produce store, which then expanded into a three department grocery store. Freson Bros. IGA plans to broaden their market with stores in fifteen communities across Alberta.

2009

Longo Brothers Fruit Markets Inc. Established in 1956, Longo Brothers Fruit Markets Inc is a family owned business operating 23 retail food stores in the Greater Toronto Area.

2008

The Country Grocer, Ottawa, ON - Since 1995, The Country Grocer has been successfully serving customers with their retail store and catering services. The Country Grocer was the first Ottawa-area supermarket to offer their products via the Internet for pick up or home delivery.

2007

Colemans Food Centre, Corner Brook, NL – Established in 1934, Colemans operates 12 corporately owned retail food outlets throughout Newfoundland including its own warehouse distribution centre.
