Internal Locations Distribution

Internal Locations Distribution is a feature of GS1 Canada’s Product Recall service. This feature enables multi-site organizations, such as retail chain stores or hospital pharmacies, to re-distribute received recall notices on to their other internal locations.

This ensures your internal locations promptly receive the recall notice.

Quicker notifications mean that potentially unsafe products are removed from the supply chain faster. This reduces risk to your reputation and brand as well as, most importantly, risk to consumers.

How Does it Work?

To use Internal Locations Distribution, you must be a subscriber to ECCnet Locations and Product Recall.

Once your Internal Locations Distribution service is activated, you will be able to create internal locations in ECCnet Locations and add the “Product Recall” new business process to the relevant locations.

Your company’s Product Recall System Administrator will then receive an alert and will assign a Product Recall user those internal locations. Once these users are setup with their access, they will then be able to promptly receive any product recall notifications that are distributed by their company’s Recall System Administrator. Each user will also be able to acknowledge the recall notice and report back quantity of recalled product found at their location.

Your company’s recall system administrator gets real-time updates through the system, and also has access to automated key performance indicator (KPI) reports providing them a consolidated view across your company’s multiple locations or sites.

Time is of the essence when product recalls strike. Internal Locations Distribution can:

  • Significantly reduce the time to notify each internal location.
  • Enable you to redistribute the recall notice to selected internal locations, or all of them.
  • Let you see that the recall notification has been read and received by your locations.
  • Tracks quantities of found and removed products.
  • Enables you and sites within your organization to prevent potential risk associated with administering a recalled product.
